Agreement and operator
These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and Simpli-FI OS LLC, a Texas limited liability company based in Denton County, Texas (“Simpli-FI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the Simpli-FI Family application, website, support pages, and related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating or accessing an adult account, using an approved review-access code, accepting a household invitation, or otherwise using the Service after receiving the in-app notice, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility and adults-only households
The first public release is available only to adults in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, receive or accept an invitation, join a household, or otherwise use the Service. A parent, guardian, or other adult cannot waive this requirement for someone under 18.
Each version 1.0 household may have one primary adult and at most one second adult. The primary adult represents that they are at least 18 and have authority to create and administer the household. The invited second adult separately represents that they are at least 18 and chooses whether to request and accept household access. We may require age or authority confirmation and may suspend access when eligibility or authority is unclear.
Each adult may hold only one active Simpli-FI Family household membership at a time. An adult cannot create or join another household while a membership, invitation claim, account deletion, removal, or leave operation is active. The pending operation must finish or be safely resolved first.
Accounts, invitations, and security
Both household adults authenticate through their own distinct Sign in with Apple identities. A primary adult may send a short-lived, single-use invitation to one intended second adult. Invitations, comparison codes, and access codes are confidential and may not be published, sold, or shared outside the intended household.
An expressly authorized synthetic App Review account is limited to the review environment. It cannot create, claim, approve, or join a real household and must not contain real household data.
Possessing or opening an invitation does not grant membership. The invited adult must authenticate, confirm adult eligibility and the current legal terms, and request to join. Both adults then compare the same short code, and the primary adult must approve that exact pending request before the second adult becomes an active household member. The comparison code is not a password or credential and is not entered to obtain access.
You must provide accurate information, protect your devices and authentication methods, promptly revoke access to lost or transferred devices, and tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Household roles determine what each adult can view and do. Before approval, the invited adult receives no household task, note, reward, history, or member-list data. An adult must not use a household role to impersonate another person, override the other adult’s lawful rights, or expose household information outside the household. The primary adult can remove the second adult, and the second adult can leave the household.
What the Service does
Simpli-FI Family helps private households create task templates, send and negotiate assignments, set time budgets, run timers, review completion, record household rewards, self-start tasks, and view limited history across supported Apple devices.
Task assignments are private household coordination records. They are not employment contracts, legal notices, payroll records, emergency instructions, medical directives, or safety-critical controls. Timers and due times are convenience tools and may be affected by connectivity, device state, clock changes, operating-system behavior, or service availability.
We may improve, add, remove, or limit features. We will provide additional notice when applicable law or a material change requires it. TestFlight access may be limited, revoked, or ended while a pre-release build is being evaluated.
Household content and license
You retain ownership of task text, notes, responses, profile information, and other content you lawfully submit (“Household Content”). You grant Simpli-FI a limited, nonexclusive, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, transmit, and display Household Content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service or comply with law. We do not use private Household Content to train a generalized artificial-intelligence model. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to legal retention and backup rotation described in the Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the right to submit Household Content and that doing so does not violate another person’s privacy, intellectual-property, contractual, or other rights. Do not put passwords, government identifiers, financial-account credentials, medical records, or other unnecessary sensitive information in task titles, notes, or support messages.
Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used without restriction or compensation, but we will not knowingly publish private Household Content as feedback without permission.
Rewards and money ledgers
Quest points, custom rewards, and money amounts are private household records. They have no cash value from Simpli-FI, cannot be redeemed from or transferred by Simpli-FI, and do not create a payment, banking, escrow, employment, wage, tax, or fiduciary obligation for Simpli-FI. Household adults are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to honor a household reward promise.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- harm, exploit, threaten, harass, stalk, coerce, or unlawfully monitor another person;
- create, invite, or link an account or profile for anyone under 18, misrepresent age or authority, or control another adult without that adult’s authorization;
- publish invitations, access codes, private household information, or another person’s credentials;
- break the law or infringe privacy, intellectual-property, publicity, or contractual rights;
- probe, bypass, disable, interfere with, or gain unauthorized access to security, accounts, devices, networks, or rate limits;
- introduce malware, automate abusive traffic, scrape the Service, reverse engineer protected portions except where law expressly permits, or use the Service to train a model without written permission; or
- use household records for advertising, data brokerage, discriminatory decisions, or unrelated surveillance.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services. The Service is not an emergency-response system.
Apple and third-party services
The Service relies on Apple platforms and may rely on Firebase, Google Cloud, Vercel, and other disclosed service providers. Their services, availability, and separate terms or privacy policies may apply. We are not responsible for a third party’s independent service or conduct.
Your license to the iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS applications is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement where it applies. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for the Service, except as Apple’s terms or applicable law require. These Terms govern the Service relationship with Simpli-FI and supplement the platform license.
Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, visual design, trademarks, logos, documentation, and non-user content, is owned by Simpli-FI OS LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the Service for its intended household purpose.
“Simpli-FI,” “Simpli-FI Family,” the dimensional F mark, and related branding may not be used without written permission except to identify the Service truthfully.
Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using the Service at any time. In-app account deletion is available as described in the Privacy Policy and support center. A second adult may leave the household, and the primary adult may remove the second adult.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect a person or the Service, investigate unauthorized use, comply with law, enforce these Terms, address eligibility concerns, or end a pre-release test. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law—will survive.
Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” SIMPLI-FI OS LLC DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR EVERY HOUSEHOLD, OR THAT A NOTIFICATION, TIMER, ASSIGNMENT, REWARD, OR OTHER RECORD WILL BE DELIVERED OR DISPLAYED AT A PARTICULAR TIME.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so part of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SIMPLI-FI OS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID SIMPLI-FI FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) $100.
These limits do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other obligations that applicable law makes non-waivable. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain damage exclusions or limits, so part of this section may not apply to you.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by Texas law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent federal law or another non-waivable law applies. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Denton County, Texas, or the federal courts serving Denton County, Texas, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
Before filing a claim, please email us and describe the issue so the parties can try in good faith to resolve it informally. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking appropriate relief for a security incident, unauthorized access, or intellectual-property misuse.
Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date and provide direct notice or request renewed consent when applicable law or a material change requires it. Continued use after the effective date of a non-material update means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, reorganization, financing, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable Apple license terms are the complete agreement about the Service.
