Email supportAccess and second-adult invitations
Why can’t I create a household?
In the public release, an adult age 18 or older signs in with Apple, confirms the current Terms and Privacy Policy, and creates one household. Creation can be unavailable while a prior deletion is still completing, after repeated security checks, or when the service cannot verify the signed-in account or app. Confirm the app is current, reconnect, and try again. If the message remains, contact support without sending a password, access code, or private household content.
How does a second adult join?
The primary adult creates a short-lived, single-use invitation and shares it privately with the intended second adult. The invited adult must be 18 or older, use a distinct Sign in with Apple identity, confirm the current Terms and Privacy Policy, and request to join. Version 1.0 does not offer accounts, profiles, or invitations for anyone under 18.
Opening a link does not grant membership. After the request is created, both adults compare the same six-character code. The primary adult should approve only when the code and named person match. The code is never entered as a password. The invited adult receives no household tasks, notes, rewards, history, or member list before approval.
Never share an invitation publicly. The primary adult can deny a pending request, cancel an unused invitation, or create a replacement that permanently revokes the prior link.
My invitation expired.
Ask the primary adult to create a new invitation. Expired, cancelled, replaced, or already-used invitations cannot be reopened.
Task agreements
What happens after a task is sent?
The recipient can accept, decline, or request a structured change to the time budget, due time, reward, or note. Acceptance records the agreement; it does not start the timer unless the recipient chooses Accept & Start.
When is a reward recorded?
Assigned work is submitted for review. The household reward posts only after the assigner approves completion. A self-started task can be completed directly.
Does a money reward transfer funds?
No. Money rewards are private household ledger promises only. Simpli-FI Family does not move money, connect to bank accounts, or provide financial advice.
Timers and synchronization
Why did the timer continue past its budget?
The time budget is a target, not an automatic stop. Continuing records overtime so the household can understand how long the work actually took.
Why does another device show a slightly different number?
Give the devices a moment to reconnect. The service uses authoritative timestamps rather than sending every ticking second. If the difference remains, close and reopen the relevant task while connected to the internet.
Can I run two timers at once?
No. Simpli-FI Family allows one active task timer per family member so the daily record remains understandable.
Apple Watch
How do I connect the Watch app?
- Sign in on the paired iPhone first.
- Install Simpli-FI Family from the Watch app on iPhone if it was not installed automatically.
- Open the iPhone app, then open Simpli-FI Family on Apple Watch.
The first release uses the paired iPhone for authentication and authoritative synchronization.
What if my Watch is offline?
Supported task actions can wait on the Watch and reconcile after the paired iPhone reconnects. Keep both apps installed and avoid signing into a different household while commands are waiting.
Notifications
Notifications are optional. If they are off, assignments and timer records still appear when you open the app.
Change notification permission
Open the Settings app on iPhone or iPad, choose Notifications, then choose Simpli-FI Family. Notification previews are designed not to include task names, private notes, or reward details.
Account controls
Sign out
Open More, choose Sign out, and confirm. Signing out removes the active session from that device.
Delete an account or household
Open More, choose Delete account, read the effect carefully, and confirm. A primary owner must sign in with Apple again if the last authentication is more than five minutes old. A successful primary-owner request revokes access and removes the household, its active records, and the owner account.
A second-adult deletion removes that person’s login and household membership. While the household remains active, shared task history may remain for the primary adult with the deleted adult’s account identifiers removed or replaced by a deletion pseudonym. The second adult can also leave the household, and the primary adult can remove the second adult. A pseudonymous retry receipt may remain for up to 30 days.
Safety and household access
If a task, private note, or change request makes you feel unsafe, you can sign out immediately or delete your account from More. A second adult can leave, and the primary adult can remove the second adult.
To report a safety concern, do not copy private task text, invitation links, access codes, passwords, or another person’s unnecessary information. Tell us the affected adult role, device type, and what help you need.
Report a safety concernStill need help?
A household adult should email the device type, operating-system version, affected role, and the last action that worked. Never send a password, invitation link, access code, private task note, or another person’s personal information.
